Storing and Freezing Bread
To freeze bread dough, place the bread in an airtight container. Seal it
and label with date, and freeze for up to 3 months. When you are ready to
use the dough, let stand at room temperature for about 3 hours. Or, it can
be thawed in the refrigerator. For shorter term storage, refrigerate dough
for up to 24 hours in an airtight container. Bring bread to room
temperature before shaping it.
To store baked bread, cool completely, usually for several hours. In order to eliminate
any dampness or sogginess, remove it promptly from the bread machine or oven. Wrap
the cooled bread in plastic wrap or foil, or put it in a plastic bag. Store in a cool dry place
for up to 3 days.
To Freeze, put the bread in a freezer bag on container, or wrap tightly with foil. Freeze up
to 3 months.
To Serve, thaw the bread in the package for 1 hour or wrap in foil and warm it in the oven
at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes.
